The Kern County Latino COVID-19 Task Force is ready to continue its diligent testing efforts in the new year. With five new testing sites this week, the task force hopes to reach even more residents throughout Kern.

In addition to the FREE testing sites, the collaborative launched a new mental health and wellness hotline handling a variety of topics such as virtual education classrooms, employment concerns, and general worry about the safety of oneself and the safety our family. Hotline is confidential and can be reached at 661-525-5900 | 661-KCL-5900.

“With the new year starting we promise to keep our efforts strong and focused for our community,” said Jay Tamsi, co-founder of the Kern County Latino COVID-19 Task Force. “We learned a lot last year and are ready to work even harder at keeping Kern County safe and our economy thriving.”

Tamsi added that the county is still required to meet state guidelines to remain at this stage of being open or to be moved forward. Among the key weekly benchmarks are increased testing results.
